Martin Hultman was born in 1975 and graduated at Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm before continuing his studies at SVA School of Visual Arts in New York. With a background as a Graphic Designer, with clients such as Scandinavian Airlines and Royal Institute of Art, Martin co-founded ATLAS magazine in 1999 and was awarded »Outstanding Magazine Design Award« by Wallpaper* Magazine.
2001 Martin created a series of animated shorts for Swedish Television's brand new culture magazine KOBRA.
Martin laid the groundwork for the visual style of the 2D animated Sci-Fi Thriller METROPIA and was widely praised for his work on the film, as the Artistic Director and one of the original creators Martin conceptualized and developed its unique "look". Metropia was awarded the prestigious »Future Film Festival Digital Award 2009« at the 66th Venice International Film Festival, with the work being recognized as »in perfect harmony with the story«.
